Curriculum and Subjects
Years’ 7, 8 and 9 (Key Stage 3)
All pupils study a common curriculum which follows the National Curriculum. Subjects are designated either Core or Foundation. In Year 9, students will start the GCSE course in RE, English, Maths, Science, French and Spanish.
Core:
- RE

Foundation:
- Art, Music, Drama;
- French, Spanish;
- PE;
- Geography, History;
- Design Technology, Food Technology.
- ICT;
- Personal, Social & Health Education (PSHE)

Years’ 10 and 11 (Key Stage 4)
All pupils will study examination courses in the following Core subjects:
- RE
- English
- Mathematics
- Science: Combined Science or Separate Sciences in Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Pupils also follow courses in PE and PSHE which includes careers guidance.
In addition, pupils follow three subjects chosen from a structured set of options. These include:
- History, Geography, French, Spanish
- Business Studies
- Design Technology, Food Technology
- Art, Drama, Music
- Physical Education (Examination)
- Computer Science
- Film Studies Btec
- Sports Btec
- ICT CNAT
Years’ 12 and 13 (Key Stage 5)

In addition to this, all Sixth Form students have to attend one compulsory Core Religious Education each week.
